TREALITY & Speed Racer

TREALITY has completed successfully another project. This time it concerns the movie industry and the famous Hollywood.

In the beginning of this year in cooperation with ChristovFX our artists and designers worked on frames from the last project of Andy and Larry Wachowski the movie Speed Racer.

Our task was to prepare frames for 3D sphere using matte painting. The process begins with photos of selected locations – ground and buildings. Through the use of special techniques a shot of the location is taken and the picture looks like an “unfolded” panorama.

This step is followed by a detailed processing of the panoramic pictures, addition, elimination and painting of multiple elements. In this way in the postproduction are combined real and animated shots which approach the viewer to the vision of the original Japanese animation from the 60’s revealing the ambitions of a young automobile pilot.
